Before Your Appointment

    • No Retin-A, retinol, Tretinoin on the brow area.

    • Avoid all facials (including microneedling and PRP), bleaching treatments, or laser treatments

    • Avoid waxing, threading, or tweezing around the brow area

    • Avoid extensive sun exposure and sunburn on
      the face

    • No Botox or fillers

    If you’re taking antibiotics for any medical purposes, please reschedule for 2 weeks after your final dose.

    • Avoid alcohol and caffeine

    • Avoid NSAIDs (Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Naproxen), some vitamins and blood thinning medication/supplements for 48-72 hours. Tylenol/Acetaminophen is ok to consume)

    If any of the above are taken for medical purposes, please consult with your physician.

    • If you notice acne or skin inflammation/irritation on the brow area, please reschedule for optimal healing. If you get tattooed over the affected area, your body will try to heal the skin excessively along with the foreign substance (tattoo pigment).

After Your Appointment

For the first 24 hours do not touch or wash your brows. Although this procedure is non-invasive, it’s still an open wound and can get infected.

After 24 hours, you can use a gentle cleanser and a light moisturizer. It may get dry and itchy but don’t over-apply and pick on the scabs

    • Blot with a tissue, don’t rub during healing

    • Be careful when putting on or taking off clothes over the head

    • Stay out of direct sun exposure. Once healed, use SPF to help prevent loss of color

    • Perfecting/follow-up touch-up appointments should take place 2-8 weeks following the initial brow procedure

    • Please inform your technician and/or care provider of your permanent cosmetics with any future MRI scans, chemical peels, or laser procedures

    • No excessive sweating, saunas/spas for 7-14 days

    • No occlusive products such as Vaseline, Aquaphor, or Neosporin

    • No makeup for 7 days

    • Your brows will peel & this is completely normal. Make sure you don’t pick on it!

    • No swimming, tanning for at least 2 weeks

    • No face scrubs or chemical peels for at least 2 weeks

    • No acidic/harsh skincare, retinols, & exfoliants near the forehead area for at least 2 weeks (skincare travels within the skin!)

    • If you have any of the following medical conditions, please advise with your doctor first:

    Eczema/Psoriasis, Dermatitis, Scarring, Autoimmune Diseases, Bloodborne conditions such as HIV or Hepatitis, Diabetes, Cancer, Bacterial Infections, Shingles/Cold Sores, History of Keloids, Glaucoma, Allergic to Lidocaine, Epilepsy, Cosmetic surgery/procedure etc

    • Cancer patients & pregnant/breastfeeding women:
      please consult with your physician first & receive a written clearance to get tattooed.

    • Use of Retin A/Retinol/Tretinoin, chemical, acid peels, or any rapid skin exfoliation products used on or around the brow area will cause the permanent makeup of the brow area to fade prematurely

    • Allergic reactions: It may be rare but red pigments cause the most allergic reactions out of all colors. Spot testing will not be done at PMU Katalog due to the late reactions of the allergy. The skin may start itching and cracking for no reason starting 6 months to a year. If you’d like, you can spot test at an allergy center before you get your brows tattooed.

    If you take Accutane, please wait at least one year after completing Accutane treatment.

    • For oily skin, keep the brow area as dry as possible. Gently blot with a clean cotton pad as needed.

    • Avoid anything that opens the pores, such as oil-based products, steam, or heat, as this can reduce pigment retention.

    • Treatments like facials, microneedling, and laser rejuvenate the skin, which may cause it to reject pigment more quickly as it works to heal and renew itself.
